I indulged myself

I bought 2 new tatting books, Tatting theory and patterns by Jan Stawasz. The patterns are very nice. I ordered the book from Lacy Susan. I highly recommend this seller. She is very helpful and ships very fast. I also ordered the book Tatted Lace by Teiko Fujito. I noticed that the book is out of print so I snagged a copy.

I'm working on a pattern by Mary Konior called Masquerade from her book Tatting with Visual Patterns.
I bid on one of her older tatting books but got sniped.

Cloony Tatting

I made an attempt at cloony tatting. Notice that I said attempt lol. I tried following the instructions in Advanced Fancy Pants and The Complete Book of Tatting by Rebecca Jones. I finally figured out how to wrap the loom by following pictures provided by Wally Sosa. A big thanks to Wally. I also used instructions provided by Mimi Dillman.

I managed to closed one leaf but still had a big loop left over with my shuttle thread (weaving thread). I definately need lots of Practice.

Holiday Tatting and other projects

I have been busy tatting and knitting. I wanted to wait until I blocked my projects to post pictures but realized that it may take quite a while before I get around to blocking. These are all unblocked. I did manage to get a quilters knitting board that I will use for pinning and startching.

My neice had a baby so I knitted a hooded sweater to send to her.

bookmark exchange-Wally

I received the prettiest bookmark from Wally Sosa. She was kind enough to include the pattern and some friend samples.



I'm currently working on Christmas ornaments to include with my Christmas cards.

need to learn how to block

I got a wonderful suggestion from a member of another tatting group. The mad tatter suggested blocking to help shape my pieces properly. I love the pictures on this site.

I mailed my bookmark the last week of Sept. for the tatting exchange on e-tatters. I don't think that the recipient has received it yet.I was going to wait to post a picture of the bookmark that I had tatted but will go ahead and post. The pattern is by Besty Evans and is titled Rainbow Heart Bookmark.

First Tatting Exchange

I'm participating in my very first tatting exchange for etatters. I'm really nervous because I've been paired up with a very experienced tatter. On the flip side I'm excited that I'll be getting a piece tatted by this lady because I love looking at her work. I'll post the results when the exchange is over: both my tatted piece and the piece that I receive.

Currently I'm working on my bookmark for the exchange, and a doily with blue flowers.

I need to learn how to block my tatting correctly.

I finished tatting this butterfly last night.

I signed up for my first tatting exchange. I'm a little nervous though because I'm an advanced beginner or maybe an intermediate. I can do split rings/chains. Cluny is still a mystery to me, I hope to learn this skill.
